The salad pictured above is a great side for any meal. Use your imagination and veggies you love! Many of these ideas can be picked up at the grocery store ready made or use your favorite recipe!! Vary to your hearts delight. Use these ideas as a blueprint to provide variety, healthy options and inspiration. Google recipes or check out your favorite cookbooks. Have fun. Adapt to your dietary needs.
SEVEN EVENING MEALS
Crabmeat Saute
Saute Chopped Onion, Garlic & Scallion in White Wine until Soft; Add Fresh or Frozen Crabmeat Pieces
Saute 10 minutes
Jasmine Rice
Green Salad with White Wine Vinaigrette
Melon Chunks with Lemon Ginger Cookies (Carrs @Grocery Store)
Meat Loaf
Mashed Butternut Squash with Salt, Pepper and Ginger
Steamed Spinach
Sliced Strawberries
Clam Spaghetti
Ceasar Salad (make your own or get a ready to go bag in produce section)
Fresh Pineapple Chunks
Roast Chicken (home roasted or grocery rotisserie)
Mixed Veggie Salad as in Picture
Fruit Salad
Tomato Soup (Amys Organic Chunky Tomato Bisque is Yum),
Grilled Cheese Sandwiches on Whole Grain Bread (Dave's Bread in grocery is nutritious AND yummy)
Green Salad with Red Wine Vinaigrette
Red Grapes
Chicken Hot Dogs Grilled on a Toasted Bun
Cole Slaw (mix mayo, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar to taste; add some grated lemon rind; toss with slaw mix)
Baked Beans
Baked Apples with Scoop Vanilla Ice Cream
(Peel and Slice Apples, Sprinkle with Brown Sugar and Dabs of Butter, Bake @ 350 til done)
Roast Beef
Baked Potato
Steamed Asparagus ( with salt, pepper, butter and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese)
Strawberry Chiffon Pie
Dessert of the Week:
Strawberry Chiffon Pie
Crush Fresh Berries
Heat in pan with one package plain gelatin and 1/4 cup sugar
Fold that mixture into a meringue (egg whites, cream of tartar, 1T confectionary sugar)
Pour into prebaked pie shell
Chill
So delicious. Somewhat nutritious.
